Hearing-Impaired Programs
Stonewall Students

Starting with Stonewall Jackson Elementary School and later adding Marcus Elementary and Jean Massieu Academy (JMA), the DTA put together a USA After School Tennis program for hearing-impaired youngsters. The DTA provides the teaching pros and equipment; the students provide the eagerness and enthusiasm.

The partnership has created a rather unique set of opportunities for both players and volunteers. For the 5th and 6th graders it is an opportunity to learn a lifetime sport, and to learn that just about anything is possible. For the volunteers it is a rare opportunity to work on their signing skills.

T Bar M Racquet Club will be hosting a hearing impaired clinic during the 2009 Challenger of Dallas. The clinic will be held on Wednesday, February 4th from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
